Our Finance and Accounting Team supports and collaborates as a strategic partner to clients, partners and all internal departments. The company transacts with partners around the world with an on-the-ground operations teams in San Francisco, New York, Atlanta, China, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam. As company grows, we need a highly-experienced Asia Payroll Manager to help build and grow Flexport’s international payroll function. The ideal candidate will have experience processing China and or Hong Kong payroll for 200+ employees, be system savvy and a team player.
What you’ll do:
- Own and manage all China and HK payroll and expense operations related to employee compensation and benefits, including payroll processing and review of commissions, bonuses, expense reimbursement new hire on-boarding, and related tax compliance;
- Accurately process benefits: health insurance, vacation and sick leave, leave of absence, etc;
- Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations are completed in an accurate and timely manner, and that is in regulatory compliance;
- Prepare schedules to support audits, and other surveys/reports requiring employee payroll data;
- Perform reconciliations of data between HR and payroll;
- Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll;
- Assist in the development of payroll policies and procedures that will ensure compliance with all necessary government regulations;
- Review, approve and payout all China and HK expenses in line with the current law requirements;
What you’ll bring:
- China and/or Hong Kong Payroll experience required;
- 5+ years payroll administration experience;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred;
- Deep understanding of applicable Country, State, and local payroll and related tax laws, regulations and statutes;
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required;
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with minimal supervision;
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and listening skills;
- Desire to make payroll a seamless process for the Asia jurisdiction;
