Commercial Banking – CMB Chief Operating Officer’s Office

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Client Selection and Exit Management (CSEM) Manager.

 

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory and financial crime compliance within HASE CMB Business across different jurisdictions (including HK, Mainland China, Macau, Taiwan and Singapore); 
  • Assist to manage Client Selection and Exit Management (“CSEM”) platform, enabling timely and auditable business acceptance / exit decisioning that can effectively and efficiently manage financial crime risk;
  • Facilitate local decision, such that exit decisions are informed by good quality and pertinent information, and exit execution can be carried out comprehensively at HASE, which ultimately enables effective financial crime risk management while ensuring compliance with conduct- and legal-related obligations with regard to treating customers fairly. Additionally, ensuring adherence to SLAs or risk mitigation as appropriate for constraints;
  • Support actions being established under CMB CSEM process and/or derived from CMB RRCSC decisions to address CMB CSEM FCR and risk appetite and financial crime risk matters.  Relevant messages should be delivered to stakeholders whoever appropriate;
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of UCM-CS platform;
  • Manage the execution of CSEM QC and QA results and providing response towards execution initiated by BRCM, Monitoring and Testing (M&T), Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Assurance, internal/external audit.  Facilitating remediation exercise resulted from the said assurance assessment;
  • Implement CMB CSEM related procedures to capture potential dispensations, deviations and variances, if any, against Global and/or Regional policies and procedures;
  • Enable RRCSC (Reputational Risk & Client Selection Committee) to take a holistic view on the CMB customer portfolio and to drive appropriate de-risking initiatives as to ensure acceptable financial crime and reputational risk;
  • Assist to embed a culture that demonstrates the right compliance attitude and behaviour among all employees in HASE CMB Business across jurisdictions.

 

 

Requirements

  • University degree in a related discipline or other relevant qualifications;
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in banking industry, with good knowledge of managing financial crime risk, compliance and AML;
  • Experience working in the CMB frontline and / or financial crime compliance is an advantage;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work under pressure;
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with organized and logical thinking;
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua an advantage;
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective service delivery process.
