THE JOB 

Reporting to the Sports Medicine Manager, the Chinese Medicine Practitioner will be responsible for the following duties:

• To provide Chinese medical consultation and treatment for HKSI scholarship athletes;
• To co-operate with sports medicine professionals aiming to deliver integrative management on medical treatment, musculoskeletal injuries, as well as recovery services;
• To provide local and overseas on-field support for HKSI scholarship athletes;
• To liaise with coaches, other professionals in ETSTD on rehabilitation and injuries management;
• To plan and conduct Chinese medicine related education classes, lectures and develop educational pamphlets for athletes, parents and coaches; and
• To plan and conduct Chinese medicine related research.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• A Registered Chinese medicine practitioner of the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong for more than 4 years;
• At minimum of 3 years’ working experience in the prevention and treatment of sports injuries, specialized in Bone Setting and Acupuncture;
• Knowledge of World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) anti-doping regulations and experience are an advantage;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Good command of both written and spoken English; ability to speak Cantonese and Putonghua are an advantage;
• Able to work in irregular hours and travel overseas; and
• Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.
