Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Work with buying, planning and creative to identify and develop value-added product strategies for the Private Label category: play a key role in contributing to product concepts
- Demonstrate full and comprehensive understanding of supplier cost structure, lead times, trading opportunities and logistics costs.
- Create and publish top-line business production critical path to drive buying calendar; include key criteria essential for on-time selection and delivery: Concept confirmation, PO raising, fabric purchase, approval to bulk
- Create and publish production forecast into vendor base: maintain and update to ensure baseline capacity planning is always up to date
- Take full responsibility for ensuring that the correct supply chain is in place to deliver high quality product on time and at the right price.
- Take full responsibility for request, analysis and approval of supplier compliance data: audits, accreditation, qualifications, CAPs, certificates
- Provide the necessary leadership, coaching and guidance to your team to ensure commitment to achieve the Department/BU plan and Individual Objectives
Requirement:
- Degree/Tertiary education preferably major in Buying
- A mininimum of seven years' expereince acquired from a leading Retailer / Design label
- Track record having developed and launched collections, labels, sub-brands
- Proven experience in managing and developing team
- Dynamic and well-rounded multi-disciplinary experience within a fashion retailer or brand
- Proven track record of leadership and high performance in a fashion business
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Broad experience in product development at premium and luxury level
- Comprehensive understanding of all critical milestones within the end-to-end product life cycle: fabric development, vendor sourcing, full cost negotiation, fitting, manufacture, shipping
- Entrepreneurial flair, expert problem solver
- Strong working relationships and partnerships – labels, designers, vendors, mills
- Project management and critical path management skills
- Buying and Range building skills
