Be a member of the senior management team, the Head of Humanitarian Education Office is accountable for the operation and development of the humanitarian education and advocacy of the Hong Kong Red Cross. Heading a humanitarian education centre, he/she is responsible for developing programs to disseminate the humanitarian values and principles to the general public, as well as such training for internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• To actively participate in the senior management team to lead the corporate strategy and development of the organization
• To maintain an overview of the international humanitarian context, monitor the trend and steer the strategic development of the humanitarian education programs
• To lead and coordinate humanitarian dissemination among departments of the organization
• To develop, modify and deliver humanitarian education programs targeting to different audience and be in line with the local context.
• To develop, modify and deliver workshops, programs and trainings on humanitarian education for staff and volunteers 
• To develop and maintain strategic partners both in local and overseas in support of the operations.
• To build and maintain an effective team of staff and volunteers with relevant competence and cohesiveness in support of the operations and contribution to the programs’ quality
• To build constructive relationship with the advisory panel members who provide professional support to the office.

Requirements:

• A good university degree with major in Social science, preferably in Social Work.
• Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification working experience in the social service sector, in which at least 5 years’ should be at managerial positions. 
• Strong commitment in humanitarian work.
• Strategic-minded with solid experience in direct service delivery, people and service management, as well as working with volunteers. Exposure in HR, financial management and communications is a definite advantage.
• Solid communication skills including lobbying and presentations combined with strong language (English & Chinese) and analytical skills, good spoken Putonghua is preferred. 
• Mature personality, good leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
