Job Posting Details

The appointee will be required to plan, organize, and coordinate works relating to horticulture, planting and maintenance activities of all the soft landscape on campus.  He/She will be responsible for the following:

 

-         Monitoring outsourced landscaping companies/contractors;

-         Assisting in nursery management and organizing events/functions;

-         Responding to emergency and urgent works;

-         Regularly assessing and recording condition and risks of the trees on campus;

-         Assisting in maintaining a Geographical Information System (GIS) for campus trees; and

-         Carrying out other duties as assigned, shift duty on Saturday may be required.

Applicants should have a degree/higher diploma/higher certificate/diploma in horticulture, biology, botany, forestry, arboriculture, environmental science or related disciplines; and 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in horticulture, and maintenance/contracting field.  The appointee should be conversant with the use of popular database softwares such as MS Excel, Access in order to operate the GIS.  Good communication skills in English and Chinese is required.  Those who are conversant with AutoCAD and holders of professional qualification such as Certified Arborist/Horticulturist recognized by the HKSAR Government would have an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
