Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of Merchandisers on daily operations;
  • Build and maintain good relationship with vendors so that all prices and lead times are best first time of asking;
  • Review existing vendors’ capabilities from time to time to maintain or upgrade the service standard of our strategic vendor pool;
  • Source new suppliers to continuously improve our strategic vendor base, whenever necessary;
  • Proactively identify and qualify factories to support Product Development team on ODM items development and launch;
  • Manage all NEW item enquiries from Business Development team, providing quick turnaround solutions with best pricing and options;
  • Manage order execution and project management from initial request to shipment of finished product;
  • Work with Engineering and Quality teams on ODM and OEM projects in compliance with US, European and other countries’ regulations;
  • Work with BD/Marketing team to continuously update items in our showrooms;
  • Gather market information and prepare various types of report;
  • Arrange and prepare product presentations;
  • Well-equip with updated raw material cost information, ensuring best price negotiations with suppliers/factories;
  • Build and maintain good inter-departmental relationship, ensuring clear and concise communication;
  • Develop and train subordinates continuously;
  • Foster a culture of openness and sharing across the business.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in merchandising field with at least 3 years in managerial level;
  • At least 3 years working experience in trading environments;
  • Abundant experience in Housewares /Kitchenware products a MUST;
  • Experience in managing HK subordinates a big plus;
  • Familiar with US and European Market, clear understanding of the international market and industrial characteristics a MUST;
  • Familiar with costing & production flow, sensitive in figure, capable to go through the entire production cycle independently with BD team, designers, engineers and factories;
  • Well-versed in managing Mainland China vendors;
  • Strong negotiation skills, strong supplier network and relationship;
  • Able to proactively work under own initiative without close supervision;
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure;
  • Dynamic, hands on and with "can do" attitude in a demanding and fast-pacing environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; good project management and customer service skills;
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Computer literate, well-versed in applications of MS Office software;
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience of ERP systems for large US/European retailers ERP systems a big plus;
  • Position is based in Dounguan or Yiangjiang or SZ.  Frequent travel within PRC and to HK is required.
