Job Description

We are seeking a motivated professional who is experienced in government policy and advocacy to enhance our efforts in promoting environmental sustainability to business and other stakeholders in HK. The role will carry out research and run high impact collaborative projects with key players to influence the public policy framework.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify priority environmental issues that will benefit from advocacy to Government by the business community
  • Proactively prepare government policy submissions or reports, and formulate responses to public consultations
  • Devise, execute, steer research and business collaborative projects including preparation of research reports, guides, tools, and programmes in collaboration with other internal departments, where appropriate
  • Develop quality content for events and facilitate discussions at conferences, seminars etc. relating to public policy and advocacy topics
  • Formulate quality content for communications initiatives and write opinion pieces
  • Manage BEC’s Advisory Groups to obtain members engagement in and input into policy advocacy topics
  • Liaise and maintain good relations with members, government officials, NGOs and other stakeholders on public policy and advocacy areas
  • Build and manage relationships with key BEC partners
  • Prepare and manage team budget and seek to raise funds as necessary
  • Lead and supervise team members including interns

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Environmental Management, Public Administration, Journalism, Communications or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 8 years working experience, with at least 3 in environmental and sustainability related areas or in public policy research
  • Possess passion in environmental management as a career and drive to promote sustainability as a corporate value
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Ability to speak (Cantonese) and write Chinese is an advantage
  • Excellent skills in policy submission preparation and report writing
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and prioritization skills
  • Versatile with strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • A team player
