The role:

To contribute to the brand building of HKBCF by providing direction, coordination, consultation and support to the Breast Cancer Support Centre (BCSC) for all activities and programmes organized in the community through effective employing, engaging, deploying and supervising of volunteers in delivering the activities and programmes.

Job descriptions:

• Plan, develop, promote and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities to support departmental functions
• Recruit, interview and place applicants for suitable volunteer work to maintain volunteer functions in various departments
• Provide ongoing support, training and guidance for volunteers to ensure quality of volunteer service
• Organize and conduct regular Volunteer Initiation Day and Volunteer Recognition Award to build up morale in volunteer team
• Liaise and communicate from various departments for the needs of volunteers to build up good relationship
• Manage volunteer booklet, reports from volunteers and record writing in BCSC’s Electronic Record system
• Develop, maintain and employ HKBCF’s volunteer database at its best utilization to promote volunteers’ work and build image of HKBCF

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources/social science discipline or equivalent qualification
• At least 3 years’ experience in managing volunteers, preferably acquired from NGO
• Innovative, mature, resourceful, cheerful, caring and independent, with solid experience in organizing volunteer projects
• Good inter-personal and communication skills
• Ability to work well and flexibly with different professionals and volunteers
• Proficient in computer operating skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; fluent in Putonghua
