Responsibilities

Reporting to senior management and supervising a large R&D department (Around 80 R&D Staffs with Engineers and sample team), the position will be responsible for all engineering and R&D functions of the department with focus on new product introduction and new product features development.  It is a very challenging position calling for someone with the most updated market oriented R&D concepts, best team management and a determination to succeed.  

Detailed responsibilities are:

• Overall administer R&D and project management including allocation of projects, implementation, monitoring, and follow up
• Is end-to-end responsible for developing products (Sporting Helmet) and driving;
• Assures competitiveness and innovation of products and processes from a technological and design standpoint;
• Ensures and consolidates that the growth of the technical "know-how" within the working group is shared and constantly increasing;
• Actively searches for best-in-class technologies among competitors and develops innovation roadmap;
• Maximizes product profitability and improve product performances;
• Applies all relevant international regulations/norms/standards;
• Establish standards and practices of R&D and development plan
• Plan and organize training and appraisal and implement talent plan
• Participate into plan of overall Project development;
• Optimize process flows and development R&D policies
• Cooperates closely with Sales & Costing team to assure customer focus and target costing; co-develops product roadmaps
• Coordinates product development/ project managers defining the right allocation of the resources
• Establishes and maintains operational budgets for his/her team personnel and equipment
• Supports R&D projects at group level participating in meetings and sharing technical information and "best-practices”
• Encourages "best-practice" sharing through the participation and promotion of meetings, newsletters, knowledge sharing tools and all other initiatives liaising on a world-wide basis
• Cooperates with design committee to ensure brand-consistent design of product ranges
• Develops employees assigned to his/her department, ensuring the correct application of tools and policies on training, career path and evaluations and inputs to compensation systems
• Any related duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements

• Graduate in Product Engineering/ industrial Process Management etc.;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Engineering / R&D Department, including > 5 years in Sporting goods (Plastics, metal, Vacuum forming, different kinds of printing method);
• Knowledge in different kinds of mold design;
• Knowledge in costs of different components;
• Costing and budgeting mindset in Product/Project Development;
• Familiar with product design verification and different production methods;
• Familiar with computer operations engineering development software;
• Fluency in English, Chinese and interpersonal skills;
• Team work player internally and across departments;
• Excellent organization and coordination skills;
• Wide spectrum of knowledge, adaptable to new requirements and can work under pressure;
• Station in Dongguan or Shenzhen is required.
