Job Description

The Customer Development Manager is responsible to call on existing and potential customers within an assigned territory or customer base. Serves as a face of the company and the primary facilitator in the development of long-term, mutually rewarding relationships that continually meet critical customer needs, gain loyalty, and grow strategic, profitable sales. Activities include:  

Responsibilities: 

  • Translates the business goals of the organization into executable plans and priorities of tasks per strategic customers to reach the business targets.
  • Establishes and maintains current and potential customer relationships to promote company products and services; provide support, information, and guidance; research on new opportunities; recommend and offer solutions that help customer improve profit and meet objectives.
  • Participates in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.
  • Follows up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Analyzes account sales activities and performance and prepares action plans and schedules to develop sales from specific targets.
  • Coordinates with company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Supports sales campaigns as required.
  • Prepares presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
  • Responds to customer RFP by co-ordinating with company staff to develop and prepare contracts, bids, long term proposals and other sales efforts for service or other customized solutions, providing guidance to company staff with expertise and knowledge in products and customized solutions.
  • Prepares paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
  • Supports management of account services through regular quality checks and other follow-up to identify and resolve customer concerns.
  • Prepares a variety of status reports, including trip reports, activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  • Stays current with product knowledge and sales tools.
  • Identifies product portfolio improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Communicates new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Supports business development by evaluating the position of new opportunities in the industry; researching, analyzing sales options and communicating it with company staff.
  • Performs other duties as required to fulfill Customer Development and Organizational needs.

 

  Qualifications/Requirements:

  •  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business, Aerospace, or related field.
  • Breadth of strategic aerospace industry relationships and extensive industry knowledge such as familiarity with standard commercial and military aircraft parts, major industry suppliers and manufacturers within assigned region or customer base, quality systems and regulatory issues, etc.
  • A proven track record of success in developing and maintaining customer relationships, including 5-7 years of related sales and business development experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Excellent presentation, persuasion and oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer savvy. Requires proficiency with ERP/MRP programs, CRM software, Microsoft Office products, and internet based applications.
  • Able to effectively prioritize multiple simultaneous projects and proactively manage time in order to meet deadlines and customer demands.
  • Proficiency of read and written in English and Chinese.
  • Work location based in Hong Kong or Guangzhou.
