Job Description

Report to: General Manager: Lignin

Responsibilities:

  • Manage revenue, volume targets, implement product portfolio strategies and provide technical support in the region
  • Maximize business opportunities through a unique understanding of the market and customer dynamics within specific sales regions
  • Negotiate contracts with customers and manage customer relationships
  • Manage clear targets in terms of revenue and volume for specific customers/region
  • Record customer feedback through structured Customer Relationship Management, with scheduled visits per customer
  • Implement sales and marketing strategy for sales portfolio
  • Manage key accounts/accounts managers, agents and customer-specific initiatives in line within the portfolio/region and strategy
  • Be responsible for the resolution of customer complaints related to sales and service
  • Ensure the management of the credit risk in conjunction with the credit risk department for the portfolio/region
  • Liaise with Product managers, Product Specialists and Logistics regarding any non-conforming products or deliveries of the portfolio/region
  • Analyse and manage customer needs and the effective routes to market in conjunction with logistics department 
  • Support specific cost saving, margin enhancement projects and maximize business opportunities
  • Ensure all activities in the product portfolio are managed according to agreed processes and procedures
  • Liaise with industry bodies on Sappi’s behalf, support and assist in the innovation process
  • Ensure that all aspects of good corporate governance and Sappi code of ethics are adhered to

Requirements:

  • Commercial and/or Science Degree in relevant field or recognised equivalent
  • 5 years of technical and sales experience – ideally within the polymer chemistry field
  • Business experience in China
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin
