  • Working with the Board to fulfill the organization mission
  • Developing resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization, including taking charge of fiscal management and fundraising
  • Working closely with the Board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
  • Overseeing and implementing appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate, including hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
  • Conducting daily church services and provide Biblical guidance and advice.
  • Prepare Bible studies, discipleship training and marriage seminars.
  • Translate Christian literature and daily news announcements from the church worldwide headquarters in Brazil (bilingual in Portuguese and English).
  • Attend weekly leaders’ webinars from the headquarters in Brazil (in Portuguese language) and communicate this with our Asia & Oceania offices.
  • Perform weekly street evangelism.
  • Engaging young people through sport and physical activity twice-a-month.
  • Planning and operation of annual charity budget.
  • Establishing employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit.
  • Serving as the church’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media and the general public.
  • Visit, establish and maintain relationships with local organizations throughout the city and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the church’s mission.
  • Supervise, collaborate with organization staff.
  • Strategic planning and implementation.
  • Oversee organization Board and committee meetings.
  • Oversee marketing and other communications efforts.
  • Review and approve contracts for services.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Trustees

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Theology
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • Twenty or more years senior nonprofit management experience in same-industry (church charity) organization, with at least ten years in three or more countries in Asia and Oceania
  • Bilingual in English and Portuguese
  • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
  • Ability to convey a vision of the church’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers and donors
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Strong public speaking ability
