- Working with the Board to fulfill the organization mission
- Developing resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization, including taking charge of fiscal management and fundraising
- Working closely with the Board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
- Overseeing and implementing appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate, including hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
- Conducting daily church services and provide Biblical guidance and advice.
- Prepare Bible studies, discipleship training and marriage seminars.
- Translate Christian literature and daily news announcements from the church worldwide headquarters in Brazil (bilingual in Portuguese and English).
- Attend weekly leaders’ webinars from the headquarters in Brazil (in Portuguese language) and communicate this with our Asia & Oceania offices.
- Perform weekly street evangelism.
- Engaging young people through sport and physical activity twice-a-month.
- Planning and operation of annual charity budget.
- Establishing employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit.
- Serving as the church’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media and the general public.
- Visit, establish and maintain relationships with local organizations throughout the city and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the church’s mission.
- Supervise, collaborate with organization staff.
- Strategic planning and implementation.
- Oversee organization Board and committee meetings.
- Oversee marketing and other communications efforts.
- Review and approve contracts for services.
- Other duties as assigned by the Board of Trustees
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Theology
- Transparent and high integrity leadership
- Twenty or more years senior nonprofit management experience in same-industry (church charity) organization, with at least ten years in three or more countries in Asia and Oceania
- Bilingual in English and Portuguese
- Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
- Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
- Ability to convey a vision of the church’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers and donors
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
- Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
- Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
- Strong public speaking ability
