Job Description

The Internal Control Assistant Manager is to support Head of Internal Control to establish and maintain a reliable control environment. His/her initiatives aim at ensuring, at local level, the reliability and exhaustiveness of the financial information, the security of assets as well as the compliance with established guidelines and procedures in line with Global policies. The Internal Control Assistant Manager supports Head of Internal Control to conduct a risk-assessment process and a yearly control self-assessment, ongoing self-testing, identify internal control deficiencies, recommend improvements, and help to develop adequate action plans and follows up their implementation.

 

Duties and responsibility

  • Provide active support to process owners /departments for the formalization and design of local procedures
  • Ensure actual processes and controls are adequately described in local procedures
  • Ensure local procedures are formalized, updated and in line with the Global policies, standards and guidance and verify that local procedures are adequately approved and communicated
  • Implement a Control Framework in line with Sanofi Internal Control Manual in all sites, entities & activities
  • Provide constructive feedbacks and sharing best practices to process owners/departments for continuous improvement
  • Ensure the country/MCO matrix of delegations is actually reflected in the country/MCO systems
  • Monitor the definition and enforcement of proper segregation of duties rules to ensure they are in line with the requirements of the Global policies, standards and guidance
  •  A regular reviews of potential user access conflicts in information systems, and propose organization changes and/or mitigating controls
  • Conduct an annual Control Self-Assessment and support & follow up the Local Management on the implementation of action plans
  • Develop & execute a local self-testing strategy and program
  • Organize internal control training to employee to increase internal awareness. support the departments on policies and procedures training to develop targeted actions
  • Act as a key point of contact for the Internal Audit before, during and after internal audit reviews. Ensure a timely and detailed follow-up of the implementation of internal audit recommendations
  • Support external auditors on internal control activities and facilitate exchange of information. Follow up internal control weaknesses to ensure adequate action plans have been defined
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Internal Control
  • CIA / CPA or equivalent qualification is preferred
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in internal/external audit from MNC/Big 4
  • Demonstrated ability to define and implement a risk assessment and monitoring program
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work effectively with cross-functional partners and drive process improvement initiatives across an organization
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills as well as communication skills to build commitment
  • Knowledge of internal control principles
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent in written & spoken English & Chinese
