Function of Reporting & Accounting (RA) Team

  • Operate as part of Finance SSC.
  • Responsible for the Record-to-Report (R2R) end-to-end process.
  • Responsible for the statutory accounts of the various subsidiaries within the Group, in compliance with the relevant GAAP, regulations and company policies.
  • Provide financial and management reports to support business decision making.
  • Tax computation and filing of direct & indirect tax returns.
  • Drive process & system improvements while balancing the need for internal control.

Main Duties

  • This is an important customer facing role where success is measured based on customer satisfaction, balancing the team’s delivery capability against incoming requests, and raising change requests for out-of-scope services.
  • Establish service level agreement and engagement framework with the business partners.
  • Build a customer-focused and continuous improvement culture within the team, with high level of accountability and ownership.
  • Prepare financial reports for management review supporting multiple business units.
  • Ensure on-time completion of month-end closing for a large number of subsidiaries, including all journal entries & balance sheet reconciliations performed by various teams within Finance SSC.
  • Work with Group Finance in the production of consolidated financial statements, including monthly reporting submission via HFM (financial and statistical).
  • Ensure all statutory audits are completed on-time and within budget.
  • Develop & implement process improvements and standardization across countries and functional areas.
  • Establish and enforce quality controls that proactively address control weaknesses. Ensure accuracy of all financial statements and management reports.
  • Leverage industry best practices for R2R to drive further efficiencies, including but not limited to utilizing robotics & business process management tool.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and development to the team.
  • Lead & participate in departmental-wide initiatives as needed.

 

Requirements / Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Degree in accounting and qualified accountant with good computer skills especially in Excel.
  • Strong leadership, team player with analytical business acumen. Able to communicate at the senior executive level.
  • Must possess customer-focused mindset with a sense of urgency.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in maintaining books for a large number of legal entities across multiple geographies.
  • Results-oriented and detail-minded person with ability to articulate and present the high-level picture.
  • Proven track record in managing projects and process improvements.
  • Able to work under pressure in meeting deadlines. Hardworking.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to deal with ambiguities, able to work within ill-defined boundaries and able to challenge status quo.
  • Good knowledge of HKFRS, IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Familiar with China bookkeeping requirements.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English & Chinese.
