Job Description

Main duties

A Freelance Meeting Minutes Writer is required to prepare minutes of the meetings of committees (including the Finance Committee) of the Legislative Council in Chinese or English.

 

Entry requirements

Candidates should:

(a)  have a recognized university degree;
(b) have at least nine years' work experience in committee work or other relevant areas, with substantial experience in preparing meeting minutes.  Relevant experience in the HKSAR Government or public sector organizations will be a definite asset;
(c)  have excellent command of written Chinese and English;
(d)  possess strong analytical skills and sound knowledge in current affairs and government policies; and
(e)  the ability to meet strict deadlines.

The Secretariat may devise further criteria to shortlist applicants.  Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a written test and/or interview.  Serving staff of the Secretariat will not be considered. 

Remuneration

A Freelance Meeting Minutes Writer will be commissioned to provide service on a need and request basis and will be remunerated on the basis of $396[1] per service hour.

The provision of freelance meeting minutes writing service is not an employment with the Secretariat.  A Freelance Meeting Minutes Writer is therefore not an employee, servant or agent of the Secretariat, and is not entitled to any employment-related fringe benefits and insurance coverage.

Applicants should send their application letters with full curriculum vitae, with indication on your choice of language (Chinese/English) for providing the minutes writing service, to Human Resources Office ("HRO"), Legislative Council Secretariat, Legislative Council Complex, 1 Legislative Council Road, Central, Hong Kong on or before 9 July 2018.  Please mark "Freelance Meeting Minutes Writer" on the envelope, and provide an email address in your application.  Shortlisted applicants will be notified by email or by phone.  All personal data provided will be treated in strict confidence.  Applicants not invited for interview or written test within eight weeks from the closing date may assume their applications unsuccessful.

[1]  The number of service hours to be remunerated for each piece of assignment shall be determined by the Legislative Council Secretariat having regard to the type and length of the meeting concerned and other relevant factors.

特約會議紀要撰寫員須以中文或英文擬備立法會轄下委員會(包括財務委員會)的會議紀‍要。

 

資格條件 

應徵者應: 

(a)  持有認可大學學位; 
(b)  具備最少9年委員會工作或其他相關範疇的工作經驗,並在擬備會‍議紀要方面有豐富經驗。具備在香港特別行政區政府或公營機‍構從事相關工作的經驗更佳; 
(c)  具備極佳的中、英文書寫能力; 
(d)  具備非常良好的分析能力,並熟悉時事及政府政策;及 
(e)  能在緊迫的期限內完成工作。

秘書處可制訂進一步的準則,以選出初步入選的申請人。初步入選的申請人或須參加筆試及/或面試。秘書處的現職職員不會獲得考慮。 

 

薪酬

特約會議紀要撰寫員將應秘書處的要求按需要提供服務薪酬根據服務時數計算,金額為每小時396元。[1] 

提供特約會議紀要撰寫服務並非受僱於秘書處。因此,特約會議紀要撰寫員並非秘書處的僱員、受僱人或代理人,亦不享有任何與受聘有關的附帶福利和保險保障。

  

申請 

請於201879日或該日前,將附有詳細履歷的應徵函件寄達香港中區立法會道1號立法會綜合大樓立法會秘書處人力資源組。申請人須於應徵函件中表明將選擇以何種語文(中文/英文)提供會議紀要撰寫服務。請在信封面註明"特約會議紀要撰寫員",並在申請文件中提供電郵地址。秘書處將以電郵或電話方式通知初步入選的申請人。申請人提供的所有個人資料均會嚴加保密。申請人如於截止日期後8‍星期內未獲邀參加面試或筆試,可當作其申請不成功。
