Our client is one of the world's top largest banks by assets.   The bank is a leader in investment banking and it also provides comprehensive retail, wealth and asset management solutions to customers around the world.  The bank is now offering a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced regulatory/financial services litigation lawyer to join its investment banking business and to take on a lead role in the legal department.

As Senior Regulatory Lawyer, the successful candidate will assist the General Counsel in handling various regulatory and enforcement related matters, including handling regulatory enquiries from the SFC and other regulatory authorities; evaluating and advising on the legal and regulatory impact of new proposed business lines or products; coordinating with, and educating business leaders on proactive measures and approaches to manage potential regulatory exposure; as well as managing external counsel on the related litigation and investigations matters.

The ideal candidate will be a Hong Kong or UK qualified lawyer with at least 8 years of post qualification experience in regulatory law/financial services litigation with a top-tier international law firm and/or with a regulatory authority in Hong Kong.  In-house legal experience would be nice-to-have but not a mandatory.  Candidates must have excellent command of both English (written and spoken) and Chinese (reading and spoken).
