Job Description

Scope of Work

  • Be the lead analyst from an investment due diligence perspective - the candidate will be expected to produce thoughtfully-written findings and presenting them to internal decision-makers, utilizing sell-side research, industry contacts, buy-side network and other third-party information sources;
  • Be responsible for tracking and maintaining positions within portfolios and be timely updated on critical information and corporate actions related to these positions;
  • Be able to produce detailed financial models and projections on public and private companies;
  • Prepare monthly portfolio commentary and market analysis for use in monthly and quarterly reports to internal PMs and external clients;
  • Margin monitoring and control;
  • Take care front end compliance on trade execution;
  • Work independently, think critically and be able to share timely market color and analysis to the CIO/PM;
  • Have good knowledge of equities and fixed income derivative products, such as CDS, OTC derivatives, futures, etc.

Requirement:

  • Undergraduate degree in economics, accounting, finance or equivalent field of study;
  • Native fluency in Mandarin, business fluency in English is desirable but not required;
  • SFC Type 1 License Holder, with expert knowledge in Bloomberg, Excel and some VBA;
  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills and experience are required;
  • Ability to conduct and lead meetings during due diligence; be able to assess investment opportunities and exercise knowledge of most asset classes and the performance of different investment strategies in diverse environments;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple projects in an accurate and timely manner is essential;
  • The ideal candidate would have worked as a generalist in a L/S equity fund or the treasury trading desk of a commercial or investment bank/life insurer.
  • Rich experience in trading bond / fixed income at financial institutes /banks is a big plus.
