Responsibilities:

• Provide necessary administrative support to assist in the delivery of departmental priorities in line with the critical path
• Support the sourcing strategy ensuring it compliments both our GM Vision, the Global Sourcing Strategy and our Asia Sourcing Strategy
• Download design briefs from the UK Teams and be responsible for filing these, and sending communication to the wider team on this.
• Support the Product Developers in sending out design trends and briefs to suppliers.
• Establish strong communication with UK & Asia colleagues and suppliers
• Maintain communication between the Asia and UK teams on all relevant activity within the UK market ensuring the Asia team have access to the latest competitor reports, photos and sales information
• Maintain a good understanding of the Market and our competition and communicate this to other team members regularly.
• Be responsible for keeping trend information and new products up to date and visible in the HK office.
• General Design support on Office projects for events and internal use
• Attend local Trade Fairs for Inspiration, new supplier and product opportunities
• Help to manage trackers, ensuring design briefs and samples arrive in line with the critical path
• As needed accompany/support the Product Developer on development trips and assist in the follow up with the supplier
• Support the design briefing and sample screening processes across all Asia merchandising and technical teams, to ensure we are consistently delivering great quality product right first time
• Understand our business vision and assist in ensuring Sainsbury’s Argos Asia is a great place to work.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years related experience in sourcing, retail, manufacturing and/or design and development environment
• Passionate about product and attention to detail
• Articulate in communicating ideas and creative thinking
• University degree or above preferred
• High level of commercial acumen & understanding of the UK market
• Basic knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
• Ability to develop strong external relationships with colleagues across Asia, the UK and suppliers
• Independent & able to work autonomously
• Willing & wants to be out in the field & travel
• Strong team working ethic
• Good written and spoken English
