The incumbent will work closely with WBA sourcing team and global suppliers in championing packaging solutions by end-to-end project development and delivery with direct packaging Cost of Good of GBP1.5 million annually.

Responsibilities & Specific Accountabilities include:

Packaging Development

• Control the development of packaging solutions through effective team leadership in order to ensure packaging solutions meet agreed specifications, costs and quality requirements including compliance to all relevant safety, legislative and technical requirements
• Ensure Lean concept is built at the packaging development to Stores
• Manage at project level (i.e. seasonal, holiday events, convenient commodity) for critical path setting, packaging specification, testing, artwork requirement

Supplier Development and Performance Management

• Develop suppliers base through range of activities including - audits, assessments, visits (from team members and personally) evaluations (i.e. print quality assurance), manage suppliers's capability to achieve required levels of performance
• Handle packaging quality issue with suppliers
• Manage service providers (design and artwork agent / print quality control agent) to make right quality to customers

Quality and Ethical control activities

• Manage quality control standard at project level (i.e. quality tolerance, defect definition), work with the team to setup quality control thru testing and inspection checklist, handle the quality issue with suppliers
• Ensure Boots Ethical policy is implemented at packaging manufacturing

Contributing in packaging team to support WBA need

• Identify innovation, new technology to enhance WBA technical capabilities
• Embrace new idea to transform our process and packaging solution to meet WBA need

 Key Position Requirements:

• Degree holder in industrial engineering / business administration and management or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years experience in packaging project development experience for US/UK retailers, solid packaging knowledge from either printing, industrial engineering 
• Excellent Quality management and production problem solving skills
• Color management and printing knowledge at different packaging substrates, functional design, testing and regulatory requirement 
• Primary packaging knowledge – plastic injection / industrial engineering / polymer using in bottle / jar / beauty packaging
• Knowledge in secondary packaging (printed / paper based packaging)
• AI or graphic design knowledge
• G7 or printing industrial related qualification is an advantage 
• Aggressive and proactive character
• Strong communication and presentation skill
• Proficient in MS Office application
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
