Job Description
INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH AND PLANNING OFFICE
Analyst (Ref. 18070304-E4)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) assist in compiling university-wide data for reporting to the University Grants Committee (UGC) and senior management;
(b) conduct statistical analyses to support strategic planning at university level;
(c) develop customized dashboards and reporting tools on university-wide data;
(d) develop data and database models to manage university-wide data;
(e) liaise with internal and external parties for collection of data and dissemination of reports and findings; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Research and Planning or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or other equivalent disciplines;
(b) have at least five years of relevant experience in data modeling, statistical analysis, and database design/administration such as data warehouse;
(c) have dashboard development experience with tools such as QlikView and PowerBI; relevant certifications will be an advantage;
(d) have hands-on experience with statistical packages such as SPSS, SAS and R;
(e) have working knowledge of key performance indicators (KPI) and balanced scorecard, and in particular their applications in tertiary education;
(f) be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(g) have good liaison and organization skills, with high self-motivation and ability to work independently; and
(h) have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
