Job Description

The incumbents will join our Robotics team to take part in research and development of various robotic projects for local industries.

Responsibilities:

The appointee will provide management in research & development activities of the centre and he/she is required to:

  • Lead a team of electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, software engineers, communication specialists and image processing professions in various robotics related projects;
  • Prepare project proposals including milestone & budget planning of external funding applications of R&D projects (e.g. ITF projects);
  • Monitor on-going R&D projects, including technical and financial aspects and other project administrative tasks such as preparing project updates and reports;
  • Assist in equipment/component/software selection; and
  • Collect end-user requirements, coordinate projects’ activities with different parties (including academic, private and public organizations) and monitor project progresses.

Requirements:

Applicants should have:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, and/or related disciplines;
  • Higher degree is preferable;
  • At least 8 years’ work experience in engineering design; with at least 3 years in electronic/mechanical projects’ management and supervisory role is a must;
  • Ability to design & develop products from scratch to shelf;
  • Solid experience in engineering/robotics related projects, machine design, and software architecture;
  • Knowledge/experience of one of the following areas will be an advantage: robot control, machine-vision, and/or deep learning.
  • Experience in ITF or Government/University related projects is preferable;
  • Having related background is highly preferable;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Immediate available is a definite advantage;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua.


Applicants should be proactive/self-motivated and hardworking in the day-today undertaking of assigned duties. The work location is in Shatin area. We offer successful candidates an attractive remuneration package with two years contract and with renewal possibilities.
