Job Description & Responsibilities

The responsibilities for new consultants vary depending on seniority, experience, and projects. In general, junior team members will focus more on individual project delivery, whereas senior team members will have greater responsibilities in terms of coaching, business development, and service development.

The key responsibilities are:
 

• Perform data extraction, transformation. Design, model and develop data models (logical and physical) to support various due diligence reporting and analytics;
• Perform analytics of large volume business data using data analytics and visualization tools, enabling the identification of key issues and opportunities;
• Perform descriptive and predictive data analytics, including the participation on complex pre-deal and post deal business data analytics technical solutions. Develop and deliver solutions based upon client needs;
• Interact with target management, developing an understanding of the business supporting the conclusions of your data analysis;
• Identify deal issues and provide suggestions for solutions, produce reports and prepare key summary section;
• Work closely with financial diligence, tax diligence and commercial diligence teams to develop and execute joint projects.

Requirements

The key requirements are:
 

• Two to five years of relevant experience in corporate IT departments or reputable IT consulting firms;
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; majored in Computer Science, or Math, or Engineering, or related fields;
• Hands-on report development experience in business intelligence platforms, e.g. PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, FineBI, SmartBI, etc.;
• Hands-on experience in SQL(experienced) , R or python;
• Solid understanding data modelling and software design patterns;
• Native Mandarin speaker and excellent communication skills in English (for China candidates);
• Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese, advanced Mandarin language skill is a strong plus (for Hong Kong candidates).

The skills above will be strong plus:

• Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, MapReduce, YARN, HBase (or MongoDB, Cassandra etc.) is a plus;
• Data warehouse experience (multi-terabyte in Hadoop);
• Expert level understanding of data warehouse implementation, management, and performance tuning;
• Strong experience on web and mobile development (HTML5);
• Other Hadoop technologies, such as Cassandra, Ambari, Hive, Pig, ZooKeeper;
• Strong in AngularJS, JQuery, JavaScript, AJAX.
