The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is a statutory body established by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2008, responsible for developing the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Contract Database Specialist

Contract (subject to renew)

Location: Cyberport Office

(Shuttle bus from: Tai Wai, Mei Foo, Hang Hau, Kowloon Tong, Sheung Wai)

Responsibilities:

• To install and configure the database and application service packs and to define standard for database client access;
• To participate in database modeling on logical and physical design and application development process including code reviews of database objects;
• To perform database monitoring, optimization, stability and capacity planning and to implement regular backups of databases and transaction logs;
• To develop and maintain ETL and Integration Job;
• To develop, maintain and test backup, recovery plan and storage and archiving procedures and to perform data emergency recovery with infrastructure team, and to prepare and review database documentation, operations support procedures and training materials; and
• To configure and audit database server security and to manage database logins, user accounts, passwords and database object permissions.

Requirements:

• Possess a recognized university degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and a certification in MS SQL and Oracle database administration;
• Have experience in Mysql database administration;
• Have at least 5 years of experience in database administration and configuration;
• Have experience in project coordination, in leading small/medium initiatives independently, and in data privacy and other compliance environment implementation;
• Have experience with the MS Office products including Visio and Project;
• Possess strong quantitative abilities and professional presentation, analytical and organization skills; and
• Possess good oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
