This position will be a renewable contract.

Responsibilities: 

• As part of a server support team primarily responsible for administering, supporting and upgrading multiple Redhat Linux and Oracle Solaris server environments running from physical server solutions to large VM server farms;
• Products to support including VCS, Control-M, JBOSS, Apache and supporting tools such as VMware vCenter, vSphere, Satellite, Netbackup, Solarwind, etc;
• Require to support Windows environments as needed;
• Day to day responsibilities will include platform maintenance and writing housekeeping scripts, automation of routine tasks;
• Working with system engineering, database engineering, development and information security team to design and implement an effective operating environment to support the growing data integration and business intelligence needs of the organization;
• Install and configure new products and components, stand up new environments;
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, system diagrams and check-lists;
• Assist in planning and execution of backup strategy, system disaster recovery, business continuity of the critical systems;
• Performs necessary system maintenance, patch management in accordance with Red Hat and Oracle best practices and Company policies and regulatory;
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; and
• Work during weekend and night-times, participating in a 24x7 on call supports.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of solid experience on Solaris and Red Hat Linux OS installation, configuration, administration and troubleshoot
• Experience and knowledge on Veritas software such as Veritas Cluster, Veritas FileSystem and Netbackup
• Experience of Red Hat Satellite, security, hardening, Red Hat Kickstart, Solaris Jumpstart
• Experience of automation tools such as Control-M
• Experience in one or more areas like Shell/Perl scripting, Firewalls, Networking, Load balancer will be considered a plus
• Deep understanding of JBoss, Apache in a production environment
• Knowledge of EMC SAN, Netbackup systems and software
• Experience with Microsoft Windows environment, Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, VMWare vCenter and vSphere
• Experience with VMWare VDI and vSan is a plus
• Be willing to work outside business hours, including some weekends. This role requires the candidate to be available on-call
• The ability to work independently is essential
• Recognized degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Certification of Oracle Solaris / RHCE
