Our client is one of the wealth management groups which offers insurance and financial services. They are now looking for a Technology Manager for Application Services team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of a team of staffs resources to overview project/product development in order to deliver successful system implementation on time
• Work with assigned Business Units and users to understand/review/integrate user requirements and to propose IT solutions
• Communicate between internal users and IT in all aspects in system development
• Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations. Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks. Make adjustments as necessary
• Provide continuous improvement for existing systems and streamlines software development process to control software integrity
• Review and maintain all technical documents and quality management to comply with group standard
• Ensure smooth production run of application systems
• Analyze and solve technical problems and ensures smooth production run of application systems and try every efforts to maintain system availability according to SLA
• Conducting research on new IT technology with reference to corporate standards and preparing reports and recommendations for management review and approval.
• Adopt new development approach, apply new technology (rule engine, BI, case management, BPM) in application

Requirements

• Degree holder in Computer Science or Information Systems or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in IT security / technology management, gained from other sizable multi-national and insurance companies is an advantage, with at least 2 years’ supervisory  experiences
• Knowledge in Insurance industry is preferable
• Familiar with Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server, AS/400 DB II , and UNIX, Application Server (Websphere, JBOSS), PowerBuilder Would be an big advantage
• Good problem solving skill, communication skills among internal/external users
