Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Close monitor bulk order follow up with factories, from development to delivery
  • Track factory progress during WIP stage to ensure on-time deliveries with correct quality and quantity
  • Generate various reports and update systems (PLM / SAP / WIP); ensure high data integrity
  • Responsible and plan for the development merchandising activities
  • Communicate and execute design concept to teams, factories and suppliers
  • Work closely with US Design /Buying teams in the development of the seasonal collections that are innovative, directional, and satisfy the vision of the Brand while meeting the needs from the business and US Design team
  • Develop new vendors to minimize cost and lead-time associated with geographic changes of garment manufacturers
  • Keep abreast of industry changes, market intelligence, fashion trends, new resources and opportunities
  • Ensure effective communication between R&D, Development and Production teams
  • Manage and maintain seasonal Design Development T&A calendars, anticipating obstacles, proactively deliver solutions and driving continuous process improvement
  • Ensure that fabric/trims/protos/salesman samples are developed to meet buyer's requirements, adequate quotations are negotiated and obtained to achieve business objectives - follow up on development
  • Assist in the costing, pricing and quotation review
  • Work on the capacity planning and factory allocation.  Select vendor manufacturers and work with factories on lead-times, capture shipping windows and salesman samples delivery
  • Arrange sample submission for various approval processes. Communicate between designers and vendors on any revision required
  • Ensure the process data up-to-date on systems and charts

 Qualification & Requirements

  • School Certificate or above, prefer Diploma and above holder in merchandising, textile and relevant disciplines
  • At least 5 - 8 years merchandising experience preferred with US buying office or large trading business
  • Profound product knowledge in high end brands mens / womens woven products with good fashion sense
  • High adaptability and flexibility to changing business environments, able to work independently
  • Detailed-oriented and able to handle very structured process
  • Good PC skill, specially Excel, familiar with multiple systems, charts and reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; Mandarin and Cantonese are essential
