 Dynamics of the Role

 

The Regional Market Planning Leader - Financial Services, Asia pacific role provides regional leadership to drive strategic business development and execute new business initiatives that align with the region and add value to the International Business Unit. Based in Hong Kong, this role reports to the Head of International Market Planning and the CEO of Hong Kong. The role will provide deep Card market knowledge and expand TransUnion’s business development practices for specific solutions and Card market needs, achieving local goals and strategic growth. The role is tasked with identifying and pursuing areas for growth and executing on the 3 Year Plan for the region to ensure business strategy expansion in the local market.

The Regional Leader will lead strategic and business development engagements with executives of priority clients to identify critical business issues and strategic priorities, and position TransUnion as partner of choice to achieve desired goals. The incumbent will also support strategic sales efforts, working collaboratively with leaders and cross functional teams such as Strategy and Planning, Sales, and Product.

The Regional Leader will also develop and use a thorough understanding of the markets within the region to provide subject matter expertise, guidance and recommendations that will drive to the success and growth of the solutions and programs in that market. The incumbent will consult with internal partners to establish project priorities, capacity planning, and recommend process, product or service improvements.

 

How you’ll contribute:

 

  • Responsible for Card revenue across product lifecycle
  • Understand Card & lending market landscape/needs, determine required solution capabilities, and create thought leadership and commercial insights collateral for clients and TU teams
  • Develop engagement plan and pursue strategic and business development engagements with key executives
  • Build partnership relationship with selected clients, providing subject matter expertise, pursuing consultative approach to identify areas of opportunity, and positioning TransUnion as a trusted partner to help clients achieve their goals
  • Develop frameworks and engagement documents for each engagement plan
  • Lead business pipeline development, coordinating internal resources for identified opportunities to maximize business conversion ratio
  • Advice on and support strategic sales initiatives
  • Support pricing strategy definition and review tactics with sales
  • Attend relevant industry events, define solution capabilities required to meet market needs

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field with 10 or more years of management/ leadership experience in product acquisition (P&L ownership preferred), product strategy, digital channels and marketing analytics, business development and management consulting.

  • Progressive experience in financial services especially cards

  • Ability to effectively develop relationships, engage, advice, and persuasively communicate with Card P&L and functional areas heads in face-to-face scenarios demonstrating real-time insight, flexibility and sound judgment
  • Strong analytical and insight-driven problem-solving skills with the ability to pursue consultative client engagements to drive business growth. Independence, initiative, business acumen, and excellent verbal, story-telling written communication, and negotiation skills
  • Business maturity, and strong leadership and listening skills with the ability to analyze input from customers, partners, TransUnion associates, market and environmental trends, to identify and clearly articulate needs and opportunities for growth
  • Program management, with the ability to lead development of business pipeline and effectively coordinate internal resources and teams to maximize business conversion
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment preferred, collaborating across teams and functions
  • Sound working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint with exceptional presentation skills
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time and perform other duties as assigned
