Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic counsel on current local and international public policies, affairs and issues
  • Conduct regular news monitoring and issues reports
  • Conduct background research, information gathering and interpreting
  • Assist in strategic planning and execution of major events, conferences and projects to support the organization’s mission
  • Support senior management on copywriting and editing, writing speeches, letters and presentation materials, both in English and Chinese, to high levels in government departments, and other external stakeholders
  • Handle and manage any critical issues affecting the organization image
  • Monitor, keep abreast of and analyse public policy development, local and international news or political issues etc. and prepare consultation responses
  • Enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences
  • Establish regular contact with political advisers, government and non-government organizations or regulators

Requirements:

  • University degree or above, preferably in politics or communications
  • 10 – 15 years of relevant experience in public affairs, media relations or editorial
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in both English and Chinese
  • Good networking skills
  • Knowledge and passion in local and international public affairs and political issues
  • Ability to write analytically on public issues
