Job Description

Role Objective / Purpose                                                                       

We are looking for candidates with large expertise on media and advertising market research, with strong skills in client management and data-driven insights.
You will be responsible for managing the media business, becoming the key reference to the clients, and give support to grow the brand and advertising business.

This includes being responsible for managing a regional strategic media syndicated study, conducted in 11 markets, with a heritage of 20 years. We expect that you bring a fresh and innovative thinking to take the most value of this program and keep it relevant to key media players.
 
Your responsibilities include the execution and oversight of projects and the management of internal operations teams and project management staff within Ipsos Connect. 
 
You will also be responsible for budget and resourcing management once projects are up and running, ensuring insight, efficiency and quality in equal measures.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Strong commercial and entrepreneurial role to grow the business - active role in proposals and renewal of syndicated studies
  • Able to communicate and handle the senior levels of the key clients (in addition to their research team) to strengthen client relationship
  • Strengthen client relationships through exceptional service
  • Interpretative and action oriented analyses with clear impact on business results
  • Ability to present to client teams using latest data visualization techniques
  • Provide guidance on questionnaire design, reporting and insights in project design
  • Overall responsibility for overall quality of all projects pertaining to the key clients assigned
  • Be the most senior source of advice on technical matters of the team/unit (or able to seek appropriate support in the company or group)
  • Responsible for the overall HR planning of the team and be involved planning for the company
  • Responsible for planning the career path of individual sub-ordinates
  • Motivate and guide sub-ordinates in terms of the professional career progression
  • Responsible for succession plan for his/her position
  • As the functional head of a sector, business practice or research type in the company

 

Person specification                                                                             

 Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in market research with solid media, brand & advertising expertise
  • Previous experience with APAC media environment and business
  • Ability to provide strategic, consultative advice to client
  • Ability to manage large-scale multi-country projects
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Superior organizational, multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, analytical individual with an attention-to-detail
  • Works well in a team environment with colleagues at all levels
  • Good team management and team building skills
  • Able to delegate
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent people skill
  • Strong leadership
  • Excellent Chinese/ Cantonese and English both in written and oral


Qualification

  • Bachelor degree or above
  • In terms of experience a Director should demonstrate extensive research knowledge (specially in media and brand), a proven track record of team management, commercial flair and well-developed account handling skills.
  • Director should have in-depth knowledge of the market and possess exceptional skills in interpreting data effectively to address business issues for clients.
  • Minimum 10 years of marketing research experience


Knowledge (including general and IPSOS specific knowledge)

  • Marketing and Marketing research knowledge is a must
  • Rich management experience is also advantageous
