The merchandiser in this team acts as the value-add intermediary between the customer and suppliers to deliver of highest standard of service for their lingerie and swimwear products.
Responsibilities
- Responsible to secure and grow the share of wallet with the customer by ensuring sufficient preparation is done for the team before negotiation meetings in the buying season
- Able to advise buyers on order placement decisions and price negotiation independently
- Perform end-to-end proactive order follow up by communicating with buyers and suppliers effectively and efficiently
- Keep abreast of market trend by visiting suppliers and fairs so can consult on upcoming trends.
- Contribute to future supplier strategies - Identify and regularly review potential suppliers then negotiate commercially viable contracts
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with current suppliers
- Analyze suppliers’ delivery performance and, in conjunction with the customer, to take appropriate actions
- Measure product performance against agreed quality standards and facilitate corrective action plans with suppliers.
- Monitor and maintain compliance at all time with social and quality requirements.
- Travel to China when necessary
We looking for candidates with the following skills and experience
- Minimum 6 years garment merchandising experience in sizable buying office
- Underwear / Lingerie experience is a MUST
- Factory experience is an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel
- Sales-driven, commercial orientation
- Detail-oriented
- Self-motivated and good team player
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage
