About the Program

Blackpeak offers both full-time and part-time internship opportunities all year round. The internship program is designed to span three to six months. For part-time candidates, a minimum commitment of 20 hours a week for three months is preferred. Interns will be offered a modest monthly allowance.

We are looking for candidates with full professional proficiency in written and spoken English, Chinese AND Japanese (with at least N1 proficiency or equivalent in Japanese) to support Blackpeak's Tokyo office from Hong Kong. Successful applicants will preferably be students with or pursuing a degree in social science, humanities, language or business with experience in qualitative research and analysis.

The program allows you the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across a range of industries in various Asian countries.You will be able to develop knowledge and skills in relation to research and investigation work on target companies and their principals, business intelligenceand litigation support.

You will be expected to carry out the following duties:

• Conduct intensive qualitative research and information analysis on Southeast Asian companies or industries
• Assess thequality, reliability and relevance of the information
• Produce high quality written reports and present your ideas and findings, under the guidance of our senior management team

In addition, you will also carry out non-project related duties or research projects such as:

• Assist sector teams with market research and analysis on one or more industry sectors, and develop ideas for sector-related practices
• Develop and gather information on research tools and databases
• Perform peer-review of written reports
• Prepare and translate materials for meetings and events

Examples of research projects on which Blackpeak interns have worked:

• Greater China – A map of business interests of China tycoons
• Japan – Compile information on civil litigation databases fromTokyo’s local district courts
• Southeast Asia – Background information on large family-owned conglomerates

Training Opportunities

Apart from on-the-job training in your assigned office, you will go through an induction session that provides an overview of our organization, our services and development strategies. You will gain valuable insight into different business sectors that attract investment, understand their operational dynamics and growth direction.

The program is designed for you to experience a multinational work environment, to develop interpersonal and communication skills, and to work with and learn from experienced risk and investment professionals. Interns with an outstanding performance will be considered for full time graduate positions.
