BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

We are a respected international wine merchant with offices in Paris and Hong Kong, exporting wine to major importers throughout the Asia-Pacific region since 1992.  We are a strictly B2B business with customers including leading supermarket chains, specialist wine store groups, importer/distributors and online merchants.

We are looking for a Business Development Assistant to join the team at our office in Central, working principally on Mainland China.  This newly created post offers a great opportunity to learn about the wine business in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Main duties include:

• Providing support to the sales team on business development activities of all kinds.
• Frequent contact by email/phone with customers, notably in China.
• After sale and logistics follow-up and customer service.
• Management of wine samples (ordering, dispatching, tracking).
• English to Chinese translation.

If you fit the following profile, we would like to hear from you:

Essential

• Educated to tertiary level.
• 1-2 years relevant work experience, fresh graduates also considered.
• Fluent Putonghua, written and spoken.
• Good English, written and spoken.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Powerpoint, Photoshop an advantage.
• Hands-on, well organized, detail-minded, team player.
• Proactive and able to use initiative.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Candidates must have the right to work in Hong Kong. 

Strongly preferred

• Knowledge of wine and the wine industry, WSET an advantage.
• Previous business development experience in China and/or Asia.
• Familiarity with international shipping procedures.
• Immediate availability.
