Job Description

 The Job

  • Accountable for defining business growth strategy and execution plan to include KPI and performance measures
  • Accountable for delivering annual budgeted sales and profit (P & L) DH and Working Capital
  • Management by objectives including all areas of people (if any) and performance management
  • Deliver sales, gain market share and profitable growth across defined market segments against business objectives including delivery of assigned Marketing, Product and Importer/Exporter Campaigns and initiatives
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and strategic direction of the business
  • Sales planning and forecasting to deliver the plans and targets (sales and margin) by region and by customer to ensure delivery of the agreed strategy. Partner with Regional and/or international colleagues on defined customers to grow opportunities
  • Clear and compelling Communication style and approach ensuring 2-way motivational communication
  • Manage and execute Business Development activities and collaborate with other Business Development team memebers to improve and leverage relationships/opportunities
  • Lead the negotiation and evolution of contracts and tenders. Negotiating pricing structures and product needs – in addition, resolve escalated customer queries
  • Continually build our understanding of the customer’s business by building strong relationships with existing Accounts customers and develop relationships with new ones in commercial and government sectors to leverage maximum value by customer by Region
  • Travel to customer and prospective customer sites to seek out and negotiate new business opportunities, and win contracts 
  • Competitor and Market intelligence: Monitors, evaluates and understands the activities and products of the competition
  • Work with the leaders in Marketing, Finance and Operations to ensure the necessary information and tools are available to ensure visibility of performance and results
  • Partner with the Heads of other departments to ensure that key account strategies are aligned and optimised
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving customer data accuracy
  • Project manage when needed
  • Other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as determined by the superior

 

The Person

  • Demonstrable experience in international trade in Import/Export, Logistics or similar industries. And/or experience of working in an Assurance, Inspection, Testing and Certification industry and/or the compliance verification of products will be an advantage
  • Recognized relevant qualification as necessary 
  • Proven and demonstrable Business to Business and/or Business to Government sales experience driving results/profit/ROI local/regional/national
  • Proven and demonstrable Sales Leadership experience through coaching, developing and driving profitable growth
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-channel multi-national environment, influencing and working in collaboration across cultures
  • Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; Sales & Profit  and strategic goals
  • Highly confident and competent in building relationships with governments, commercial decision makers and high level leaders from top companies
  • Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification
  • Skilled to develop and secure buy-in for an attractive business case (internally and externally)
  • Skilled negotiator of significant agreements with strong commercial acumen and numeracy
  • Negotiating and influencing,; win-win solutions
  • MS Office skills
  • Fluent in English is essential
