Position Overview:

Vyrian is an electronic components distributor specializing in the distribution, sales and marketing of semiconductor passive and active components. With more than 5,000,000 unique electronic parts featured on our online catalog, engineers and purchasers look to Vyrian for their new product sourcing needs. Due to the rapid growth of our business, we are in immediate need of an experienced Senior Buyer to assist our executive team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

As the Senior Buyer, you will work closely with the sales team and vendors to obtain the correct parts, volume, price, and shipping schedule. Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple tasks at once and negotiate pricing, while maintaining a very high level of service to the sales team. This position is centered in a fast-paced, open working environment. We are looking for highly-motivated candidates who can get up to speed quickly. Previous purchasing experience IS REQUIRED.

 Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all aspects of electronic component purchasing and materials management, namely researching and sourcing parts for submitted requirements.
• Establish accurate purchasing information such as product descriptions, price, and part numbers.
• Organize competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain best quality, delivery and price for goods and services. Negotiate pricing, payment and shipping terms.
• Prepare, confirm and follow up on purchase orders. 
• Manage and monitor supplier responses and arrival schedules. Must be able to support and work with our Asian suppliers.
• Build and sustain relationships with supply chain personnel. Complete supplier/vendor surveys as necessary.
• Work with management to execute a purchasing plan to support short and long-term goals
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely fashion.
• Schedule testing for components when required.
• Work with the shipping team to track and expedite purchase orders as needed, keeping the sales team informed of any materials delays or problems
• Assist sales, accounting and other departments as necessary to resolve any issues with suppliers and materials.

Supervision Received:

The Senior Buyer reports to the Purchasing Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 3-5 years experience purchasing electronic components/semiconductors.
• Must be able to negotiate all aspects of the purchase and reduce costs. Performance in this role will depend and be measured by your ability to reduce costs for the team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High sense of urgency and expert level organizational skills required
• Knowledgeable about international purchasing, including importation requirements and exchange rates. Must be able to support Asian suppliers with time difference.
• This role communicates daily with the sales and shipping/logistics teams. Strong communication skills required.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines.
• Strong computer literacy and organizational skills required. Must be comfortable working with MAC OS.

Education and Training:

• College degree or equivalent work experience required.

• Previous purchasing experience electronic components is required.
