Our Team 

The Finance team handles accounting and financial reporting for FNG. The Company’s financial reporting includes preparation of the financial statements, analysis of key performance indicators, and budget vs. actual analyses. As part of managing the Company’s cash flow position and daily working capital needs, they ensure there are proper policies in place with clients, publishers, and other suppliers.

The Opportunity: Production Finance Cost Manager

We are seeking for a motivated individual with passion for TV and media industry, especially Chinese content. To be successful in this role you possess keen eyes towards details and strong interpersonal skills. Multitasking is also paramount to deliver with multiple tight project deadlines.

The role will be based in Hong Kong.

Your contribution to the team:

The role will oversee the full spectrum and day to day accounting, monthly closing, stat and tax reporting for the Chinese Production Department.

In particular, the tasks are as follows:

Production Day to Day Accounting:

• Partner with the Chinese Production leadership to manage production budgets to deliver production projects on budget
• Design/review actual cost tracking along with project owner from the Chinese Production team
• Provide and present clear, accurate and timely production costing and cashflow reports and analysis to both Production and Finance teams on a regular basis
• Understand and aid in solving budgeting and day to day accounting and compliance issue
• Liaise with AP outsourced vendor for all Production AP and third party vendor related issues

Monthly Closing:

• Review/prepare monthly accrual
• Ensure all journals are prepared and fully supported
• Ensure accurate channel allocation
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and schedules

Statutory and Tax:

• Participate in the statutory audit for legal entities managed by Hong Kong Finance Team including liaising with internal and external auditors in relation to the Chinese Production piece
• Work closely with Group Tax team on all tax matters

Management reporting:

• Prepare supporting management reports for reporting to HK Regional Office for Monthly Actuals, Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Budget

• Provide key finance support for Chinese Production Team and accounting for these costs while identifying opportunities to improve the financials

• Prepare internal controls documentation on Sarbanes Oxley control and perform testing as appropriate

Ad hoc duties and projects including preparation of Ad hoc reports

Your profile

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant or CPA or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

• 3+ years working experience at Multinational Company or Big Four
• Experience in a Pay TV, media or related industry will be a plus

Knowledge

• Strong local knowledge on regulatory and tax compliance
• Strong knowledge on IFRS/ US GAAP
• Hands on experience in ERP (PeopleSoft and Hyperion preferred) will be a plus
• Language requirements: Fluent written English/Chinese and spoken Mandarin
