Global Markets Finance Department

Hang Seng's Financial Control function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators and external examiners. We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial reporting and compliance, capital planning and reporting, financial control & SOX control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and global markets finance. Global Markets Finance Department (“TFC”) is a business finance function supporting and controlling Global Markets activities, under product control, reporting and control sections. 

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Assistant Global Markets Finance Manager.

Principal responsibilities

• Preparing PL attribution process, Balance sheet substantiation and accounting procedures for global markets products
• Maintain the accuracy and timeliness of various reporting to front office and Group in terms of the GB&M requirements.
• Participate in daily trader PL reconciliation and signoff control process
• Participate in product/system enhancement projects and test new products or systems to be launched.
• Contribute to the profitability of the GM and the Bank by ensuring a robust control environment is in place for hedge accounting according to FIM or other requirements.
• Manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and controls, loss identification and reporting by observing the relevant policies and guidelines issued by the Bank and Group.

Requirements

• University degree in a related discipline, with a recognized qualification such as HKICPA, ACCA, CFA or TMA an advantage
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience, preferably with middle office exposure to GM products
• Good knowledge of accounting standards and GM / derivative products
• Ability to work independently, with good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
