Job Description

ACADEMIC SECRETARIAT

Executive Officer (Ref. 18073107-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) provide administrative support to admissions, student-related, and academic programme-related matters;

(b) perform work associated with compilation of student statistics and implementation of related system;

(c) perform extensive statistical analyses and summarise the key findings for admissions and management reporting purposes;

(d) improve current data collection, management, and blending processes for internal and external reporting purposes;

(e) develop visualisations for dissemination of various performance measures and indicators to derive actionable insights;

(f) discover, evaluate, and recommend the latest data analytics methodologies and tools to meet the rapidly evolving demand of the University;

(g) support office activities, functions and special projects; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Academic Secretary or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a scientific/quantitative discipline;

(b) at least five years of post-qualification solid supervisory experience in statistical and predictive modelling, clustering and classification techniques, and optimisation algorithms;

(c) extensive experience in data modelling with SAS, with working experience in QlikView/QlikSense being an advantage;

(d) strong analytical skills and high proficiency in handling statistics, data extraction from relational databases and flat files;

(e) excellent communications skills and an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(f) a proactive attitude, good problem-solving skills, and a mentality of embracing new technologies; and

(g) an inquisitive spirit, willingness to learn and experiment with new ideas and new domains, and flexibility and receptiveness in collaborating with colleagues and vendors.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
