Job Description

Assistant Officer, IT Operation and User Services will participate in IT equipment purchase, IT maintenance contract renewal, user helpdesk and IT operation support, which includes handling user enquiries, hardware inventory control, software inventory and license management, etc.

Job Duties:

  • Manage and monitor IT related procurement tasks, including but not limited to prepare purchase requisition via SAP and follow up with Procurement Unit to purchase IT equipment and service; receiving IT goods/services; monitor and renew IT maintenance contracts; specification preparation; cost estimation and evaluation
  • Manage and monitor software inventory and IT related hardware inventory, such as desktop, notebook, monitor, hand-writing pad, SSD, wireless keyboard/mouse, standard common office software, etc.; maintain software license assigned to user, and proper records of fixed asset of all IT equipment in SAP
  • Assist teams provide helpdesk support service for general users, such as handling user enquiries, IT equipment deployment and disposal
  • Assist teams to provide operation support services for corporate IT project, such as the arrangement of IT equipment, and scheduling appointments with users for hardware/software upgrade, etc.
  • Assist teams to implement IT projects and new IT service administration, and provide basic technical and user support
  • Provide general administrative support to MIS unit, including budget record maintenance and secretarial duties

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or above with at least 2 years’ relevant working experience
  • Knowledge in IT and experience in using SAP for IT equipment purchase and fixed asset management is an advantage
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems, in particular, using Excel to summarize and present the result after performing data analysis, reconcile and correlate with other Excel data
  • Mature, multi-tasking, willing to learn, proactive, and able to work independently and under pressure
  • Customer-oriented and work harmoniously with internal and external partners
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua

The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
