Reports to: Project Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed individual to join our Financial Services Department as a Project Accountant. The individual would be responsible for providing financial assistance and support to line departments within Cathay Pacific, including involvement in funding business case preparation, funding requests, tracking of project spend to approved budget, ad-hoc financial analysis and presenting and reporting key financial data for projects.  This is a challenging role which provides an excellent platform to gain a broad commercial and operational understanding of Cathay Pacific.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with Business Units to gather data prepare the business case for the projects
• Analyse the financial projections of the proposed business cases providing constructive review of commercial rationale and assumptions driving these
• Ensure appropriate financial accounting treatment of projects and explain this to management
• Develop and maintain the system for cost tracking of approved projects and monitor development of their progress to completion
• Develop and manage appropriate financial accounting records (actual and forecast)  management information and reports for projects
• Assist in consolidating project financial data across projects
• Work with management to improve information flow and implement new processes where necessary
• Assist in other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting or related discipline
• Professional qualification in Accountancy
• Minimum 3 years' audit experience from internationally recognized audit firms, Solid supervisory experience is essential of which 3 years in supervisory role
• Posses an analytical mind, reganization & planning skills.  Able to work independently, be self-motivated and attentive to detail.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• High standard of both written and spoken English
• Proficiency in PC and MS Office
