Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Performance, you are responsible for leading the University's Performance and Risk Programs:

• Benchmark and implement best practice performance management processes in a University environment that tracks the University's progress against its Strategic Plan;
• Implement and manage a best practice risk management and reporting framework that is integrated with the corporate planning and budgeting cycle;
• Implement and manage a business continuity management program for the University based on industry standards and best practice;
• Ensure that complete and up to date policies, strategies and procedures are in place for performance management, risk management, business continuity management and insurance at the University;
• Oversee financial review of business cases and contracts and look for ways to optimize these from a risk and cost perspective;
• Oversee the management of the University's insurance programs and policies;
• Implement and manage systems and processes that support effective risk, performance, business continuity, and insurance management;
• Support and facilitate strategy and policy development within the University including the review and update of the University's Strategic Plan and Vision, subject to the Risk Management framework;
• Prepare and present detailed financial, performance and risk reports, presentations and plans to Senior Executives and Board members as required;
• Manage the identification, evaluation and roll out of large projects
• Manage and oversee the day-to-day work performed by all Specialists and other staff in performing their delegated duties;
• Perform periodic performance appraisals for the Section Specialists and other staff and prepare Section performance reports for review by the Division manager;

The Successful Applicant

Our client is looking for an experienced Manager of a Performance and Risk program:

• Bachelors Degree in business or a related field, and Professional Accounting qualifications are mandatory(CPA, CMA, CA, ACMA)
• 13+ years of progressively responsible experience in management and general accounting.
• Experience ideally in a multinational company and /or educational institution
• At least 5 years of experience in a management position
• Strong communication and leadership skills, the ability to lead and motivate a team
• The ability to work closely with a diverse group of faculty staff, senior administrators and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to drive change and process improvement across a Finance department
• A broad and thorough understanding of the inner-workings of an educational institution is preferred
