Job Description

Our Client is a well known international luxury brand with Hong Kong as a key location for its business.  A need has arisen to hire a Financial Controller to lead the consolidation team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of accounting & reporting function at the group consolidation level; ensure all the statutory guidelines and legal requirements are observed correctly and
  • Oversee technical accounting consultation via research and analysis of complex accounting issues, applying relevant technical accounting guidance and interpretation
  • Develop targeted and consolidated financial and statistical reporting through metrics and KPI’s to improve management decision making
  • Prepare group consolidated financial and management reports and highlight key findings and provide recommendation to improve business performance
  • Enhance, design and implement efficient accounting/financial practices and internal control processes. Closely monitor the internal control process, able to identify high risky area and carry out action accordingly
  • Build and maintain a high performing report/analysis team by providing strong leadership and guidance
  • Drive team performance and ensure a continuous improvement culture
  • Responsible for ad-hoc projects when required
  • Develop and mentor all direct reports

QUALIFICATION

  • Degree holder in Accountancy / Finance or related disciplines with professional accounting qualifications such as HKICPA/ACCA or equivalent
  • Broad IFRS knowledge and consolidation experience.
  • Possess solid knowledge about IFRS15&16. Hands on experience in ERP system will be a strong advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in consolidation processing and review and financial reporting gained from big 4 accounting firms and sizable multinational corporations or large listed companies, 5 years of which in managerial capacity
  • Well versed in MS office and experience in using SAP and Adaptive is an advantage
  • Excellent oral / written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership skill with confident and proactive personality. Comfortable to work with people from different background and able to effect change in such an environment
  • Analytical, strategy-minded and enjoy to work on complicated issues and scenario
  • Methodical work style, capable to manage projects and provide target deliverable under tight schedule and pressure
  • Ability to handle multi-tasks and respond effectively to unexpected changes and requests
  • Independent, self-motivated, capable to handle tight timelines
