Job Description

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

Centre for China Urban and Regional Studies

The appointee is expected to provide administrative and organising support for the Centre. Duties include:

  • Organising events: plan, publicise and manage events such as workshops and seminars.
  • Coordinating project: manage workflow and liaise with team members and external collaborators.
  • Report writing and publication design: prepare reports, presentations, and policy briefs.
  • Conducting research work: gather data from primary and secondary sources; support the team in preparing project proposals to apply for government, university, and private grants.
  • Administration and personnel coordination: handle administrative tasks, update finance records, maintain website, liaise with other university departments.

Requirements

  •  Applicants should have a good Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in geography or urban/regional studies.  
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese are needed.
  • Good computer skills in word/data processing, and basic knowledge of graphic design and website editing.
  • Fresh graduates are also welcome.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
