RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the in-service and online programmes for Officers, Lieutenants, Local Officers & Soldiers with the approval from Education and Training Council; and organize the Library and Archives in the Command Resource Centre.

• Work with the Personnel Secretary and members of Education & Training Council to identify the training needs for Officers, Lieutenants, Local Officers and Soldiers and follow through the management of the training courses

• Review, monitor and submit for approval the study applications and grants of the Officers, and maintain educational records.

• Oversee the daily operation of the Resources Centre and promote the use of the Resource Centre and services to all Salvation Army staff, officers, soldiers, friends and overseas Chinese Corps and fellowships.

• Perform other legitimate duties assigned by the supervisor/management.

REQUIREMENTS

• An understanding of the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army

• Degree or above in Theology/ Linguistics/ Education or equivalent

• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience of which 7 years should be in a managerial position. Relevant experience in managing church training programmes OR related project is an advantage

• Strong ability in research, analysis and report writing

• An excellent player with good interpersonal and presentation skills

• Strong leadership and strategic planning, service-oriented, be proactive and innovative

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English

• Proficient in PC applications in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Chinese Work Processing
