Requirements:

The Independent Tree Specialist shall

• Either be an acceptable university degree holder in related disciplines of arboriculture including agriculture, botany, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture, landscape management, landscape science, plant science, or equivalent qualifications and have a minimum of 3 years of local post-qualification experience in arboricultural/ horticultural practice; or
• Have a Diploma or Higher Certificate in related disciplines of arboriculture including agriculture, botany, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture, landscape management, landscape science, plant science recognized by the Development Bureau or equivalent to the standards of Level 3 or 4 in the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework and have a minimum of 4 years of local post-qualification experience in arboricultural/ horticultural practice.

and

• Have valid qualification awarded by institution or industrial organization on arboriculture recognized by the DEVB, such as Certified Arborist of International Society of Arboriculture, Technician or Professional Member or Fellow of the Arboriculture Association of the United Kingdom or equivalent as approved by the Engineer.

• Shall have completed and passed the tree risk assessment training course recognized by the DEVB and be proficient in written English and Cahinese.
