Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Responsible for ensuring all activities on site are carried out in a safe and environmentally considerate fashion in line with company and client standard.
  • Undertake risk assessment and management activities

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop processes for the monitoring and reporting of compliance with legislative, ARCADIS’s and clients’ quality, health and safety policies.
  • Advising clients as to measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of persons employed and, with the proprietor’s approval, implementing such measures.
  • Advising client on the implementation of a safety management system in accordance with the industrial undertaking.
  • Inspecting the workplace to identify potential hazards and reporting the findings with recommendations for correction to clients.
  • Investigating incident, accidents (with or without personal injury) and dangerous occurrences and reporting with recommendations for prevention to clients.
  • Assisting in the supervision of safety supervisor.
  • Receiving, discussing and countersigning health and safety related weekly reports as required.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the proprietor in the approved form
  • Review method statement and risk assessment for CAPEX and OPEX work activities from health and safety perspective
  • Provide guidance and support to the operational teams as required on the management of operational risks, quality, safety, health and environment to facilitate team members achieving service excellence under a safe working environment.
  • Support risk manager and team on risk management projects.
  • Working outside normal office hours or night shift may require to suit the Capex programme.

 

Person Specification / Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably on commercial banking management, large scale building or infrastructure projects
  • Experience in safety system auditing and inspection with good report preparation and writing skills
  • Experience in conducting Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) audit would be an advantage.
  • Experience in Risk Management
