OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  

Contribute to the development of the Handbags auction business in Asian market and support the Head of Sale by collaborating in developing business, cataloguing and co-ordinating the sale and property.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks:

(Duties include but are not limited to the following)

• Manage catalogue production process including cataloguing, photography, essay writing, lotting up and monitor and enforce all relevant deadlines
• Ensures all property entered for sale meets standards for quality, condition and provenance as appropriate
• Supports the successful running of sales e.g. participating in pre and post-sale debrief, exhibitions
• Ensures coordination with Marketing and PR
• Contributes to the curation of the sales

• Reviews estimate requests to determine sale potential.
• Provides subject matter expertise on pricing, valuations, cataloguing, researching etc
• Maintains and continually updates own specialist knowledge in order to build credibility in a specialist area e.g. writes and prepares catalogue essays
• Follows competition and keep track on these results for market share and analysis

• Prospects for new clients and ensures that new business opportunities are acted on and followed through
• Works collaboratively with other specialists, business getters and commercial experts across the business

• Develops a network of clients and contacts to convert for sales
• Develops a trusted advisor relationship with each client
• Ensures a good understanding of each client’s preferred working style and interests and adapts accordingly
• Ensures client information databases are up to date and that the information is used to full effect    

• Understands commercial aspects of deal making
• Participates in deal making and ensures the right people are involved and fully briefed
• Assist in sale registration, phone bidding, and post-sale enquires

• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Qualification Requirements:

• A recognized university degree

• At least 2 years of experience in handbags- related industry

• In-depth knowledge of handbags

• Articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Proactive and sales-driven with a strategic mind-set

• Independent and able to work with minimal supervision

• Customer-oriented and confident in handling prestigious customers in a polite and professional manner

• Strong organizational skills

• Proficient in MS Office

• Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese, Mandarin is an advantage
