Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager on general local engineering support matters, liaison with other local interfacing contractors, selection, appointment, superintendence and liaison with local sub-contractors etc.
• Utilize his/her extensive related experience in working with design team and shall be conversant with the setup, methodology and working details of the team so that queries raised by the Engineer, can be readily and speedily conveyed and responses solicited with no ambiguities or misinterpretation.
• Keep close contact with the overseas design group to acquire up-to-date progress information related to the project.
• Discuss, negotiate or commit on behalf of the Company and shall be bestowed with adequate authority to receive and carry out the directions and instructions of customers and customer’s representatives during the Construction Works Period and Defects Liability Period.
• Prepare, monitor and update the construction programme; and incorporate the progress of works done on site against scheduled activities and reflect on the regular updating of the work programme and relevant programme management matters.
• Assist & coordinate with the Maintenance Manager during the Construction Works Period and the Maintenance Services Period.

Requirements

• Holder of a university degree satisfying in full the academic requirements for application of Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) or equivalent in the electrical/electronics discipline or within a relevant discipline;
• Possess at least 6-year post-qualification full-time working experience in construction contracts of satellite/telecommunications or relevant systems
• Possess considerable experience on the management of similar large-scale projects with government project experiences preferred
• Be responsible, accurate and detail-minded with excellent communication skills in liaison among various stakeholders
• Capable of communicating fluently and effectively in spoken & written Cantonese and English with local work agents, other contractors and overseas engineers
