Chief Technology Officer

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be part of the executive team of the company. He or she will lead technology development, providing sound technical leadership across all aspects of our business.

Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential for this role. The successful candidate will be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with business concepts.

Communication skills are also called for as the CTO will need to communicate with employees, stakeholders and customers to ensure the company’s technologies are appropriately used.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop all technical aspects of company strategy to ensure alignment with our business goals
• Consolidate our technology platforms and create strategies for each
• Identify competitive advantages and technological trends to benefit the company
• Take initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity
• Lead technology teams in day-to-day operations, provide key expertise, supervise the heads of departments, and set performance goals
• Manage and optimize infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets
• Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture
• Develop and enhance the company website to increase site traffic
• Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics
• Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence to them
• Develop and direct all networking safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches and protect sensitive internal and external client information
• Stay up-to-date with new trends and best practices in the technology landscape

Necessary Qualifications and Skills

• An MA in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• 3-5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in software development, information technology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience as a CTO
• A proactive problem solver
• In-depth knowledge of web system architecture, design and development
• Hands-on experience with complex project management 
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
• Excellent organization and time-management skills
