Responsibility:

- Hands-on in database installation, backup & recovery and performance monitoring & tuning

- Perform system administration and housekeeping tasks

- Perform system monitoring and tuning when necessary

- Handling incident and perform troubleshooting for technical problem

- Able to perform support on system incident whenever receiving alert during office and non-office hours

- Conduct impact analysis of the system change request

- Implement system change according to approved change request

- Perform data backup and restore procedure

- Perform system security review

- Review and conduct disaster recovery drill

- Assist in regular application patch review and execute deployment procedure

- Supervise vendor to apply product patches e.g. AIX patches, firmware, DB2 database patches, application server (e.g., Websphere) patches etc

- Supervise vendor to perform hardware maintenance and replacement

- Generate regular system reports/statistic

- Maintain up-to-date documentation

- Participate in application related and infrastructural projects

- Work with application team to support application develop and roll out processes via infrastructure resources

- Liaise with vendors for projects and technical services       

Requirement

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

- 7+ years IT experience, 5+ years of experiences in Database Administration (and AIX)

- Advanced knowledge of database structure and SQL

- Certificates in DB2 and AIX are required

- Experience with DB2, Linux and AIX are required

- Experience with Oracle is preferrable but not a must

- Familiar with database daily operation and troubleshooting

- Familiar with database installation, configuration, troubleshooting, capacity planning and performance tuning

- Familiar with DB2 HA and DR design, implementation and support

- Familiar with SQL development and scripts, including stored procedures and triggers etc

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance
